Artist Statement:

Carbug Bugcar is an art project I started in 2012.

The image came about through Automatic Drawing – a practice I’ve followed for many years. Carbug Bugcar surfaced spontaneously in several drawings and eventually got it’s name and became the focus of new artwork.

Gregory John McIlvaine received a BA in Creative Studies from UC Santa Barbara in 1992 and an MFA in Art from Otis School of Fine Arts in 1995.   He currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
